35, female, Retrenchment, 12 years in the same company. Loyalty?

As i grew older, i started to get a pinch of old age job market. We used to think Japanese company don't retrench, now that i am seeing aunties who worked for the company for 20+ years getting retrenched.

Society don't pay well to nice people. There is a colleague of mine who wanted to request for transferred earlier time, GM rejected and request her to help out to the end. Being nice, she stayed and now she faced with retrenchment while that GM went to secondment.

Soon might be my turn, every day wondering to myself why do I even need to work hard and OT for a job that i might get retrench in 1-2 years' time. While i am also planning to get pregnant (will i ever get pregnant?)
