for the nth time, I remind myself not to be too judgemental.

For the nth time, I blame myself for not study hard enough for Japanese before I arrive to Japan. It's like, even though I managed to smoke through the daily conversation, but I can't talk about in-depth topics. Sometimes, I find it difficult to convey the correct emotions, feelings and even meanings to them. Sometimes, people talk to you only if you know Japanese. In another words, they don't talk to you or to some extent "alien-ised" you once they hear you speak English. Sometimes I feel really left out because I know nuts about their conversation, sometimes I just grew too tired to guess their meaning and ignore their whole conversation at one go.
I miss speaking English, hearing English. But on the second thought, I want to improve my Japanese simply because I am in Japan. Everyday I'm having free listening practice, speaking practice and reading practice.
For the nth time, I really regret not studying hard enough for my Japanese almost everyday here. :(
Hello ! this week is pretty happening in the company. other than the mundane literatures I have to do, staring blankly at the texts with my heads down, the minor test experiment I did to do, I went to the yoga lesson and took part in a Reversi competition! it's available in my company. I had always want to try some yoga but didn't really sign up for the class in Singapore. But now, I'm happy! :) Yoga lessons twice a week, with different theme for each lesson. The only bad point is that it's conducted in Japanese. -.- I understood only 40 % though. But the teachers are pretty helpful.
Yesterday, I just realise how fake the people here is. I used to know, but now I understood.
At least a lesson learnt. It seemed like I learnt quite a few stuffs this few weeks, this 3.5 weeks in Japan? Not only the culture, people here but also the job itself. It's very different from teaching labs and pretty much the job scope of a researcher that i used to thought. I am really gald and feel lucky that I am learning something instead of doing the normal holiday admin job in Singapore. Really, i suppose, that's fate? I really have to thanks that.

I still prefer Stockholm, even though the people are colder there.

Hello! Been in Japan for 2 weeks now && I do have some culture shock here& there. But it's pretty fine. :) You realised that you are in the land called Japan when you realise that you constantly start speaking indirectly & politely , drink miso soup at least twice a day, bow at least 15 times a days, probably speak less than 10 English sentences a day, watch the sky turned bright at 5.30am in the morning. But the Japanese are helpful + friendly. Today, together with 4 other interns from India, I went to the company tour - the chemical production plant where I see lots & lots of oil tank. It's was pretty interesting because I got to get a chance to talk to the Indians again. They never failed to surprise me with their knowledge and their way of thinking
Anyway, that's University of Tokyo that we went to. And that's my roomie and she came from top school. HAAHHAA. I always got a chance to exchange ideas and some thoughts with her. Sometimes I think travelling with the other three interns from XXXXX university can be dull but they never fail to surprise me in another way. So I guess, it's a trade off.
I very fine in japan & I even went to buy a lot of stuffs from Fancl shop last weekend! :)
