Does long-distance relationship works?
One of my friends who is in a LDR for 4 years finally is engaged to her boyfriend. Her effort paid off. I always feel that cross-cultural relationship/Long-distance relationship require more effort and accommodation as compared to the normal relationships. I felt happy for her & it makes me feel somehow there's still this word call "love" in the world. But, how many of us can really have it? or even taste it in our life?

Hello (guys) ! - if there's probably some people still following this blog. hahaha.
That's my first photo that I think I ever post when I am in Japan. 6th day in Tokyo, everything is fine - Except for the mosquitoes/unknown insects that have been loitering outside my window / in my toilet that is threatening me every night. Tokyo's metro/subway map is really bad, I get pretty lost always and start asking people for directions using my poor Japanese ability. But the Japanese here are really helpful, unlike Stockholm. If they did not know the directions/train timing that I asked, they will go all the way to help me find out the answer from respectively people-in-charge instead of simply walking off. The aunties at my canteen is friendly and cheerful, but my department in my company tried to avoid talking to me because they have no confident in speaking English to me and my Japanese is cui for them. Even my tutor tries to avoid talking to me and pass the instructions to my vice-tutor... hmm, but in this 6 days, I am sure that I heard more Japanese, read more Japanese and speak more Japanese than I ever had in Singapore.

3rd Day in Japan. There's a lot of things I experienced these days. I don't know how I can put them into words. other than all the fear/uneasiness, I feel that it's awesome. Definitely have cultural shock a lot in these two days
Working in the research company, totally changed my idea of being a researcher. a researcher does not mean that you are in the lab for 24/7 hour.
Anyway, my intern up till now was really relaxing. I worked from 9am-5.30pm everyday with an hour lunch break in between. However, I spent only 4 hours or so doing the "real work" and the other hours "trying hard to find things to do".
I was trying to understand a chemistry book in Japanese. It's kind of weird and interesting to read all your "protecting groups, alcohol reactions, reduction, oxidation reaction" in Japanese.
Anyway, I still have to conclude that without knowing a single Japanese in Japan, it's really difficult to get by.

When you get too comfortable with your bed, toilet, friends, family, home, your table, your chair, your teddy bear, you find yourself feeling sad leaving a country call Singapore.

At times like this, I feel so empty, so empty that I suspect if I could peek a look into my own heart, I will probably find nothing.
I wonder it's because of the lack of academic work that made me felt this way. Idk.

I don't like to wear make up. The reason is simple- because I have a lot of pimples/pimples marks on my face. Make-up creates miracles, makes wonders. Make-up enables me to achieve flawless, shiny, glowing skin. These ideas definitely attract me, or probably, it generally attracts majority of the girl population.
However, I loathe the idea of making my face smells like powder, the idea of wearing a mask. Sometimes, make-up can be such a powerful mask that I couldn't even recognize my own face when I stare into the mirror.
People likes your mask, not you, the real you.
When you wear this mask too often, and the moment when you remove your mask, your real look scared off people, to the extend send shockwave to some. But ironically, that's the real you.
Simply because everyone loves beautiful things. Just like how we choose apples/oranges in supermarket. Our eyes only/automatically set on the nice/fresh-looking ones, but throw away the rotten/old fruits.
I can't blame people for liking beautiful things because this is human nature. Even I have to admit that I am drawn to beautiful things.

The end.
Or yet another new beginning?

Sometimes I really wonder why our views can be so different when we are both sisters.
We live in the same roof, same family environment.
Is it because of the different education systems we went through / the experiences we gone through that moulded our individual character?/ perspective?
But I really wonder why there's such a big gap between us.

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Sometimes, I really think that I have to blame myself.
As people always say:
"Birds of the same feather flocked together".
There's always a reason why you are friend/able to clique with her/him. Because, somehow, somewhere you are possess characteristics that are the same as her/him.
I am just too ashamed to confess this point to myself.

Clinging on past which is useless
the stone that prevent me to step forward, or maybe,
am I the one who refuse to step forward?
Back in my head, I clearly know I have to set my priorities right.
